The Disaster Management Officer’s Day (DMO Day) is back in 2026 and will this year follow straight on from the Australia and New Zealand Disaster Emergency Management Conference (DEMC).
DMO Day is a day just for Disaster Management Officers (DMOs) in councils across the state. It is a day to connect, share knowledge, and discuss issues that matter to you and the work you do in your communities.

Join the planning group
We want YOU to help plan and deliver DMO Day as the event you want and need. If you’re passionate about shaping a great event about disaster management at the local level, join the planning group. The group is meeting via Teams, starting later this month. We’ll need an hour of your time each Teams meeting and expect 3-5 meetings.
