This page and the Queensland Disaster Management Lessons Management Framework are undergoing a refresh.
Queensland’s disaster management sector recognises the importance of lessons management for driving continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across disaster prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.
The Lessons Management Framework aims to provide guidance to the disaster management sector on identifying, developing and sharing lessons.
Queensland Disaster Management Lessons Management Framework (5MB)
The current Lessons Management Framework involved consultation and input from key representatives and practitioners from the disaster management sector through a series of workshops. These representatives, from state government, local government and the not-for-profit sector play a key role in supporting improvements to the Queensland disaster management system.
The framework has been developed in accordance with the Emergency Management Assurance Framework, the Standard for Disaster Management in Queensland and Queensland’s disaster management arrangements. It is consistent with the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience Lessons Management handbook. The framework provides a common approach to lessons management, promotes sharing of lessons across the disaster management sector and contributes to driving continuous improvement in emergency management.
