2023–24 Severe Weather Season Review

Submissions now open

The Office of the Inspector-General of Emergency Management is conducting a review into the Queensland’s 2023–24 Severe Weather Season.

The review will identify enhancements to inform and ensure continuous improvement in Queensland disaster management arrangements.

This review into the 2023–24 Severe Weather Season is guided by the Terms of Reference

The season commenced earlier than usual on 1 October 2023 and continued to 30 April 2024. The review includes the severe storms, tropical cyclones, tropical lows, flooding and bushfires from this period.

It’s important to note that each extreme weather event is different, so it’s important we learn from each of them.
